5-Shelf Bookcase, Select Cherry Finish

Pros

• +Three of the five shelves adjust, so it handles everything from paperbacks to tall binders and decor
• +The cherry laminate reads as real furniture from across the room — a big step up from wire or plastic shelving at a similar price
• +Sauder is a 90-year-old Ohio furniture maker, so replacement parts and customer service actually exist

Cons

• −It's engineered wood with laminate — fully loaded shelves of heavy hardcovers can develop a slight sag after a year or two
• −Assembly is straightforward but unforgiving: if the back panel goes on crooked the whole case sits out of square
