Our take
The safe, proven pick for peak humidity season, at a mid-range price for its class — only pay up for the pump model if you can't drain downhill.
Pros
- +Consistently a top lab-test performer for moisture removal, pulling its rated 50 pints even in very damp basements
- +Quieter than most 50-pint units (roughly 47-51 dBA), with a washable antibacterial filter you never have to replace
- +Continuous-drain hose option plus auto-restart after power outages makes it truly set-and-forget
Cons
- −The 1.7-gallon bucket fills fast in high humidity, so you'll want gravity draining or frequent emptying
- −No built-in pump at this price — the pump version (FFAP5033W1) costs meaningfully more
Best for: Homeowners with damp basements or large rooms who want a proven, reliable workhorse over smart features.
Alternatives to consider: hOmeLabs 4,500 Sq. Ft. 50-Pint Dehumidifier, Midea 50-Pint Cube Dehumidifier
