Our take

Still the safe default webcam — buy it when you need it and move on with your calls.

Pros

+Proven 1080p/30fps image quality that beats virtually every built-in laptop camera
+True plug-and-play on Windows, Mac, and Chromebooks — works instantly with Zoom, Teams, and Meet with no drivers
+Glass lens with reliable autofocus and automatic light correction, rare at this price

Cons

−The underlying design dates to 2012 — low-light performance is mediocre and it tops out at 30fps
−Built-in stereo mics are just passable; plan on using a headset for calls

Best for: Anyone on daily video calls who wants a big, cheap upgrade over their laptop's camera without paying $100+ for a 4K model.

Alternatives to consider: Logitech Brio 500, Anker PowerConf C200
