Our take

The benchmark one-bag travel pack — if you fly with one bag, this is the pack to measure everything else against.

Pros

+Hiking-grade suspension and adjustable harness make 25+ lb loads genuinely comfortable — rare in a travel pack
+Opens flat like a suitcase for easy packing, unlike top-loading backpacks
+Fits most airline carry-on limits, and the straps stow away so it can be gate-checked or handled like a duffel

Cons

−No external water bottle pocket, a persistent complaint from owners moving through airports
−40 liters forces truly minimal packing — trips over a week require real discipline or laundry stops

Best for: One-bag travelers who want to skip checked luggage entirely without sacrificing carrying comfort.

Alternatives to consider: Cotopaxi Allpa 35L Travel Pack, Peak Design Travel Backpack 45L
