Our take
A solid buy for anyone who wants streaming that just works — Roku's simplicity is the whole pitch, and it delivers.
Pros
- +Supports 4K, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ for under $50, which cheaper sticks usually skip
- +Roku's dead-simple, search-friendly interface stays fast and works the same across every app
- +Long-range Wi-Fi receiver holds a solid stream even in rooms far from the router
Cons
- −The home screen carries ads and heavy content promotion you can't fully turn off
- −Roku's newer, cheaper Streaming Stick Plus covers 4K HDR for $39.99, though it drops the Dolby Vision this model keeps
Best for: Anyone with a dumb TV or a sluggish built-in smart TV who wants the easiest, most neutral streaming interface.
Alternatives to consider: Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Google TV Streamer
