Our take
Worth the premium over no-name sets if you travel more than a couple of times a year; occasional buyers will be fine with a cheaper set.
Pros
- +Mesh window tops let you see what's inside each cube without unzipping everything at security or in a hostel
- +Water-resistant 100% recycled fabric holds its structure, so cubes stack neatly instead of collapsing into blobs
- +A longtime Wirecutter top pick backed by Eagle Creek's lifetime warranty — these outlast the cheap sets by years
Cons
- −You get only three cubes for the price of generic 8-piece sets that cost under $25
- −You pay a real brand premium here, and the value math is easy to beat
Best for: Organized packers who travel often enough to justify paying for durability and a real warranty over disposable budget cubes.
Alternatives to consider: Peak Design Packing Cubes, Bagail 8-Piece Packing Cube Set
