Our take
A buy-once staple — no need to overthink the timing.
Pros
- +Pages wipe clean with a damp cloth, so one notebook genuinely replaces years of paper pads
- +The free app scans pages straight to Google Drive, Dropbox, email, and more, with solid handwriting OCR
- +Comes with the required FriXion pen included, and replacement pens are cheap and sold everywhere
Cons
- −FriXion ink needs about 15 seconds to dry and will smudge if you write fast or drag your hand
- −The synthetic pages feel glossy and slightly plasticky — dedicated paper lovers won't be fooled
Best for: Heavy note-takers who want handwritten notes automatically digitized and hate accumulating stacks of half-used notebooks.
Alternatives to consider: Moleskine Smart Writing Set, Elfinbook 2.0
