Our take
If you need the storage, buy at this near-2026-low price — the NAND shortage means waiting is more likely to cost you than save you.
Pros
- +Still one of the fastest PCIe 4.0 drives ever made, with 7,450 MB/s reads that load games and large project files nearly instantly
- +Excellent sustained-write performance and thermal behavior, so it does not throttle during long transfers like cheaper drives
- +Proven reliability with a 5-year warranty and a 4.8-star average across nearly 13,000 Amazon ratings
Cons
- −The 2026 memory shortage has pushed SSD prices well above where they sat in 2024, so even a fair deal today stings
- −PCIe 4.0 only; if your motherboard supports Gen5, newer drives are faster on paper (though few workloads notice)
Best for: PC builders and PS5 owners who need a fast, dependable 2TB upgrade and want to buy before memory prices climb further.
Alternatives to consider: WD Black SN850X 2TB, Crucial T500 2TB
