Our take

The default bedroom air purifier — the rare appliance almost nobody seems to regret buying.

Pros

+Near-silent 22 dB sleep mode makes it easy to run all night in a bedroom
+Auto mode with air-quality sensor plus app, Alexa, and Google control at a budget price
+AHAM-verified performance and replacement filters that only run about $30-50 a year

Cons

−Really a small-room unit — the 1,000+ sq ft claims assume just one air change per hour
−Thin carbon layer means it is weak on strong odors and cooking smells

Best for: Allergy sufferers and pet owners who want a quiet, set-and-forget purifier for a bedroom or home office.

Alternatives to consider: Winix 5500-2, Coway AP-1512HH Mighty
