Our take

A long-running favorite for a reason — the lift-away canister and sealed-allergen system still make it the practical pick under the premium brands.

Pros

+Suction rivals uprights costing twice as much, especially on carpet and pet hair
+Lift-Away canister detaches so you can actually clean stairs and under furniture
+Sealed system with HEPA filter keeps fine dust and allergens locked in

Cons

−Corded and around 14 pounds, so it feels dated next to cordless stick vacuums
−Loud on max power, and the short hose limits reach in Lift-Away mode

Best for: Households with lots of carpet or shedding pets that want deep-clean power without paying Dyson prices.

Alternatives to consider: Dyson Ball Animal 3, Bissell CleanView Swivel Pet
