Our take

The 3-pack is the sensible way in — per bulb it beats building a Hue setup one at a time, and sale events are the moment to pounce.

Pros

+Best-in-class color accuracy and smooth dimming that cheaper smart bulbs can't match
+Works out of the box over Bluetooth with Alexa, Google, and Apple Home — no hub required to start
+Rock-solid reliability and years of software support, which matters for bulbs in hard-to-reach fixtures

Cons

−Still pricey per bulb versus Wiz or Govee
−Away-from-home control and bigger setups need the Hue Bridge, sold separately for about $60

Best for: People starting a smart lighting setup who want premium color bulbs that just work and won't be abandoned by the manufacturer.

Alternatives to consider: Govee Smart Light Bulbs (Wi-Fi + Bluetooth), WiZ Connected Color A19
